  • Hello from south Florida!

I've been keeping up with the progression of the Attack for over a year, and have even lurked the forums for a LONG time. Just figured I would go ahead and start posting.

Hello from south Florida! I love cars, nearly anything to do with them. I run a bunch of forums, www.SouthFloridaRacing.com, www.NSXprime.com, the list goes on and on.

Ever since I had my first mid-engine car, a Fiero, I fell in love with that platform. MR2's, Fieros with V8 swaps, you name it. Currently I have a NSX, but I'm selling it tomorrow, to prepare in getting an Attack. I cannot WAIT to get one.

As for engine, I'm looking at dropping in a 3.8L turbo engine out of a Grand National, using some sort of Porsche transaxle. I'm shooting for the 600hp mark at the wheels. I want to run a 9.99 or lower in the quarter, while still being able to do road and open track courses. The NSX can't get near a 9, mainly because axles continue to snap once the car gets over 500hp, and there isn't a stronger one for it...a one off would cost too much.

I do all of my own work on my cars, and can't wait to start on an Attack. I've built a bunch of kit cars based off Fieros, so this one should be a piece of cake! Hats off to the designers of it, and also to the creator of these forums.

And if you're looking for new hosting for these forums, shoot me a mail. I specialize in car forums. I host a TON of them.

how are you going to have the engine setup? It needs for it to be a transverse setup ...like a fwd car.

when are you getting the kit?

The engine could be setup either way. If a toronado transaxle is used, then it could be done straight with the car. I don't have dimensions of the engine bay, and doubt that would work.

In all reality it would be setup just as I've done them in Fieros, transverse using a porsche tranny. Where there's a will, theres a way.

As for when I'm getting it, I don't know yet. I've been in talks with a few people that are early on in the waiting list. The lower number I can find to buy, the sooner I'll get it.

Welcome to the Attack world. It will be interesting to see which trans you will use from a porsche. I was thinking the same myself. I have been on this forum trying to talk someone into buying my 93 caddie and using it for a powertrain since it is already a transverse setup. The engine is probably going to be too damn big though. Actually I agree with you about the design/designers for this vehicle. The Honda powertrain is probably going to be the best.

          Thanks for the welcome!

If one is goign to stick with a Honda drivetrain, The B series is the way to go for major power and reliability. You can make 650hp out of a B18C with some reliability, if you spend the cash. There is enough of an aftermarket parts following to pull 1k HP out of one of these.

Oh the H22 though, I have yet to see an extreme amount of HP. I know of one pushing 647hp, but it uses a lot of custom parts, and was very expensive to build. You take a B18C, darton sleeves, stroked/bored (well not bored but the wider bore sleeves) to 2.0L, slap on 20 pounds of boost, and you've got a killer right there.

If the NSX drivetrain wouldn't cost $10k in parts alone, that would be an interesting setup to put in there too.

                Hi and welcome abord !

The nsx is nice in your avatar if it's yours ! !

and I am wainting to see how you will build that. BTW the wainting list is kinda long
Why complicate things when you can make them simple.

Actually I haven't been on these forums for a while, I sold that NSX. ( www.nsxtuner.com/images/PHTO0082.JPG ) was a pic of it, I have a ton more. I was running a bunch of nitrous on the NSX, and blew it up at Moroso dragstrip. The NSX doesn't take too kindly to mods, stock it can't handle much power.

So after it blew up, I sold it and bought my SC300 back from the guy I had sold it to. I'm in the process of building it for 1200+ HP this time. The things I do while waiting for an Attack...LOL I've thought of putting a 2JZ in the attack, but the logistics of putting in such a long engine in it are a concern.
